Below are notes you will need to add to page 15 for your verb
sheets. Make sure to really know the difference between knowledge
and understanding. If you still don't get the notes below, please ask
a classmate or me.

Rules for Saber and Conocer:

Saber: knowledge

------> to know:    1. information or facts about something/someone

                             2. how to do something

**The "yo" form of saber (sé) can never be left alone:

           Positive: Sí, lo sé.

           Negative: No lo sé.

Conocer: understanding

--------> to know:    1. how to take knowledge and apply it to a complicated

                                   or abstract idea.

                                2. a person: as in met them (use the personal "a" after it).

                                3. a place: as in been there.

Forms:

Saber: to know

Yo   sé

Tú   sabes

Él/Ella/Ud.   sabe

Nosotros/as  sabemos

Vosotros/as   sabéis

Ellos/Ellas/Uds.  saben

Conocer: to know

Yo     conozco

Tú     conoces

Él/Ella/Ud.    conoce

Nosotros/as    conocemos

Vosotros/as    conocéis

Ellos/Ellas/Uds.    conocen
